A bill that would create state government program to finance
energy efficiency projects at seaports passed the Assembly this week by a
unanimous 77-0 vote.
“This bill will help Long Beach, San Pedro and other ports
across the state reduce demand on their regional power grid, cut greenhouse gas
emissions and ensure California continues leading the way in the implementation
renewable energy,” Assemblyman Patrick O’Donnell, D-Long Beach, who authored
the bill, said in a statement.
